Lewis County Fire Protection District No. 8 is placing a proposition before the voters on the August 4, 2026 ballot authorizing the District to restore its 2026 regular property tax levy to $.88 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation for collection in 2027 and establishing a consumer price index based growth factor for each of the following nine years.
The deadline for appointing the committees is May 1, 2026. Citizens interested in participating, please contact Chief Duran McDaniel at 360-520-0008 no later than April 22, 2026.
